Oil and Gas sector is gaining its own weightage in the economy. The stocks from oil and gas sectors have lot to effect on the stock market movement. Oil and Gas index was launched effective August 23, 2004 as part of the new series "90/FF". The index covers 90% of the sectoral market capitalization and is based on the Free-Float methodology.
